Whether you’re building your dream custom pickup, completing a factory restoration or simply looking to achieve a lower, more aggressive ride height, our Chevrolet Pickup IFS Kit – 11.75″ Brakes – Coil Springs allows you to enjoy the comfort and benefits of having an independent front suspension system in your early truck without paying the high prices of other IFS kits on the market. Our Chevrolet Pickup Mustang II IFS upgrade kit dramatically improves the handling, ride and safety of your classic pickup to make it drive and feel like a brand-new car. We have conducted substantial testing on these kits in order to comply with all relevant Australian standards. As a result, all of our kits come with an Australian engineering certification report.
This IFS kit is a complete replacement of your factory I beam axle, leaf springs, spindles, hubs, brakes and steering box. Unlike other IFS solutions this kit is designed to fit around your factory chassis without the need for your standard chassis rails to be removed or cut. This is a weld in kit and comes with detailed instructions to make the install as simple as possible.
We only offer the highest quality Mustang II IFS kits manufactured by Classic Performance Products, all of our kits come standard with 2” drop spindles, drilled and slotted rotors and power steering. This particular kit is our entry level option with coil springs and gas shocks, it’s also designed for people looking to retain the “old school” look and comes with an 11.75” brake option to fit inside 15” diameter wheels.
The combination of the CPP 2” drop spindles and lowered springs included with the kit will give your classic pickup a practical lowered ride height. For a more substantial static drop the springs can be trimmed or for an even more extreme stance our Chevrolet Pickup IFS Kit – 11.75″ Brakes – Coil Overs or our Chevrolet Pickup IFS Kit – 11.75″ Brakes – Air Bagged is recommended.
This Chevrolet Pickup IFS Kit – 11.75″ Brakes – Coil Springs includes:
– Model specific fabricated crossmember.
– Model specific fabricated coil spring top hats.
– Model specific chassis rail boxing plates.
– Coil spring specific tubular upper and lower control arms and ball joints.
– Forged 2” drop spindles.
– Forged aluminium hubs and heavy-duty wheel bearings.
– 11-3/4″ diameter drilled and slotted performance brake rotors to suit 15” diameter or larger wheels.
– High performance Wilwood calipers, powder coated black.
– Brake lines.
– Lowered coil springs with either medium (350lbs) or heavy (425lbs) spring rates.
– Gas shock absorbers.
– Left hand drive power rack & pinion steering rack with inner rack ends and tie rods. Rack input shaft suits 3/4″-36 spline universal joint.
– Heavy-duty sway bar and mounts.
– The kit comes with all required mounting hardware.
– Please note Chevrolet kits come standard with 5×4.75″ stud pattern and Ford kits come standard with 5×4.5″ stud pattern.
– 47-54 Chevrolet pickup kits have a 55.50″ track width, 55-59 Chevrolet pickup and 53-56 Ford pickup kits have a 59.50″ track width standard.
– Please note, medium weight spring rates are recommended for 6 cylinder or small block vehicles only, while the heavy weight spring rates are recommended for most pickup truck applications, especially where vehicles are lowered or fitted with larger than factory engines, A/C, or additional accessories etc.
– This is not a bolt in kit and does require welding and fabrication in order to be installed correctly. This kit is a direct replacement of the factory I beam axle, leaf springs, steering box, and brakes for a 1947 – 1959 Chevrolet or 1953 – 1956 Ford pickup with stock chassis rails. If the factory chassis of your pickup has been previously modified, this kit may not fit as it is intended and additional fabrication may be required. It is up to the buyer to determine if this kit is suitable for their particular vehicle and application. All welding and fabrication should be performed by a qualified person and certified by an engineer in order to ensure an adequate and safe installation prior to use.
